About

Notre-Dame Church is located in the heart of the historic centre of Cholet, in the diocese of Angers and the department of Maine-et-Loire in France. The main religious building of the city, this neo-Gothic sanctuary, inspired by the aesthetics of the great cathedrals of northern France, is distinguished by its imposing dimensions, making it the second largest church in the diocese, after the Cathedral of Saint-Maurice in Angers. Its two openworked stone arrows, which peak at 65 meters, make it an essential landmark in the urban landscape.

The construction of the church lasted a little over thirty years, from 1854 to 1887. It has been listed as historic monuments since 1999.
