The Church of Notre-Dame, located in the territory of the French commune of Dives-sur-Mer, in the department of Calvados, Normandy, is a Catholic building. It was the place of an important pilgrimage which lasted essentially until the wars of Religion and the destruction of an object subject to the devotion of the faithful, a Holy Savior Christ found according to tradition in the eleventh century by fishermen; the pilgrimage then resumed until the French Revolution. While the present building retains elements dated from the 11th century and has suffered severe depredation over the centuries, it is in relative good condition due to successive restoration campaigns, the last of which was the beginning of the 21st century.
It is "the most remarkable monument of Dives" according to Arcisse de Caumont. It has been classified as historical monuments since 1888. A number of movable items are registered.
The church kept few old stained glass windows, although, at the end of the 20th century, a 14th century stained glass panel was found and purchased by the municipality with the assistance of the state. The building also retains remarkable...
