History: Before the French Revolution, the territory corresponding to the 12th arrondissement belonged to the parish of Saint Paul and then to the domain of Sainte-Marguerite. But two institutions had the privilege of exercising the "soul cure": the Cistercian nuns abbey of Saint-Antoine des Champs and the 15th-Vingts hospice, the foundation of Saint Louis. The abbey was abolished in 1790 and the monastery assigned to St.Antoine Hospital in 1795. The new parish of Saint-Antoine des Fifteen-Vingts was founded on 4 February 1791 and received as a place of worship. It was sold as a national property in 1798 and then destroyed. The chapel of the Fifteen-Vingt Hospice served as a parish church for a century, until the construction of the present church which was completed in 1903 and consecrated to St.Antoine the Great on 11 November 1909.
