église Saint-Denis d'Hodenc-en-Bray
Saint-Denis Church is a Catholic parish church located in Hodenc-en-Bray, France. The baptismal fonts of the 11th century attest to the existence of a church in the same location, before the present nave was built in the middle of the 14th century. It is a unique vessel without character, covered with an interesting panelled structure with carved and painted decorative elements.
The church is best known for its flamboyant Gothic choir from the first quarter of the sixteenth century, built under the impulse of the family of Montceaux, lords of Hodenc-en-Bray from 1481. The choir is of both sober and elegant style, very bright, and of generous dimensions compared to the small importance of the village. Despite its interest in the history of architecture, the church was not listed as a historic monument until 1995, and its history remained largely in the shadows.
It is affiliated with the parish of La Trinité in Bray in the country of Bray.
