Église Saint-Jean-Baptiste de La Feuillée

Description: The church of Saint-Jean-Baptiste de La Feuillé is distinguished above all by its bell tower with gallery and pilasters, but also by the number and quality of crossettes (14) representing either animals, or characters, among others, lions, dogs, a pig, a kangaroo, a monkey, a bear, an old man and a dragon. The furniture consists mainly of:

the magnificent white marble altarpiece and statues, made in 1866 by Yann Larc'hantec de Morlaix; the pulpit, the work of the Derrian workshop in Saint-Pol-de-Léon; the stained glass of the choir dedicated to Saint John the Baptist; the ancient statuary, including a Pieta; a bell (1683) which is among the oldest in the bishopric of Quimper and Leon; 12 frescoes and murals that were the subject of an inventory and a study of pathologies in 2000. Among the remaining inscriptions are the Latin names of Mary, Joseph, Joachim, Anne and Saint John the Baptist, as well as those of Missire Pierre Mevel, vicar and Missire François Mevel... probably serving them of the church.
