About

Saint-Martin Church is a Roman Catholic parish church located in Luché-Pringé, Sarthe, France. Built in the 11th century by the monks of the abbey Saint-Aubin d'Angers on the bases of an ancient sanctuary probably dedicated to Saint Apolline, the church undergoes numerous transformations over the centuries. His choir, remarkably preserved and whose construction ended in 1225, is a testament to the Gothic style of Angelvin, for the finesse of his vaults called "Plantagenet".

Enlarged in the 16th century by the addition of a transept, the church was partially destroyed in 1921 following a violent fire. The nave, badly damaged, is only partially rebuilt, giving way to a parvis facilitating access to the building by the western facade. Classified as a historical monument since 1913, the church of Luché contains a rich collection of wooden, stone or terracotta statues, some of which come from the neighbouring church of Notre-Dame de Pringé, as well as a collection of stained glass made by François Fialeix at the end of the 19th century.
