église Saint-Pierre de Lamotte-en-Santerre
Saint-Pierre de Lamotte-Warfusée Church is located on the territory of the municipality of Lamotte-Warfusée, in the department of the Somme about 25 km east of Amiens.
History: The village of Lamotte-en-Santerre was completely destroyed during the Great War. There was virtually nothing left of the 19th century church. The village was rebuilt during the interwar period. The reconstruction of the church has been particularly careful. A renowned architect worked with great artists of the time to realize the monument we know today. The new Saint Pierre de Lamotte church was built from 1929 to 1931. It was restored in the 1950s, the structure of the bell tower whose elements had broken out over the years and thermal shocks was resumed. The coatings, paintings and frescoes were restored. The building is protected under the title of historical monuments: inscription by order of 4 November 1994 (annuled), then classification by order of 27 October 2005. In 2013, the arrow and bell tower were restored. The state of the interior frescoes and some stained glass windows was very degraded in 2020.
