About

Saint-Pierre de Pierrevert, parish church of the commune, under the patronage of Saint Patrice, is a Romanesque church located in the commune of Pierrevert in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence department in France.

History: Built in the Middle Ages (circa the middle of the 12th century), the first church included only the small chapel of the Rosary. Later, due to population growth, the large nave was built. Finally, in 1822 there was added a third nave called Saint-Roch. These successive enlargements, carried out over centuries apart, have made our church a disparate and original monument. Listed under the title of the Historical Monuments by order of 27 October 1937, the 16th century portal, which emerged from another demolished church, was installed in 1704 to adorn that of Saint Peter. Original, the south façade ends with a trilobed pediment, with a small wrought iron cross.

The bell tower: It dominates the village of Pierrevert. Composed of four arcades and an arrow, its large bell dates back to 1810.
