église Saint-Vincent de Ria
The church of Saint Vincent de Ria () is a church in Ria-Sirach, in the French department of the Pyrénées-Orientales and the Occitan region. Built in the 11th century in the Romanesque style, it is heavily remodeled in the 17th and 18th centuries. Its Romanesque bell tower and pink marble portal are listed historical monuments. The church is dedicated to Saint Vincent without further details, probably the local saint Vincent de Collioure, martyr of the fourth century venerated in the Roussillon and whose relics are in Collioure. However, the latter is often associated in the region with St Vincent of Zaragoza, also martyr of the third and fourth centuries, and patron saint of the winegrowers.
Situation: Ria is a village in the eastern Pyrenees, on the left bank of the Tet River, facing the village of Sirach on the other bank. The two villages form the municipality of Ria-Sirach, in the French department of the Pyrénées-Orientales. Saint Vincent Church is located in the village of Ria, in the middle of houses, at an altitude of about 400 m. Only its western facade is free of adjoining buildings.
