About

The chapel Sainte-Eulalie de Vilella is a Roman Catholic chapel located in the French department of the Pyrénées-Orientales in Rigarda. This chapel, built at the end of the 12th century or during the first half of the 13th century following the Romanesque tradition, was abandoned in the first half of the 17th century. Composed of a single high nave open with a prolonged broken arc of a semicircular apse on a west-east axis, it is completely stripped of all furniture, moved in the seventeenth century in the new church of Saint-Eulalie-et-Sainte-Julie of Rigarda and its portal that served for the new church. It is dedicated to Saint Eulalie of Barcelona, a Christian martyr of Catalonia born in 289 and died in 304, often confused with Saint Eulalie of Merida.
