Sainte-Foy Church is a former church in Chartres, Prefecture of the French department of Eure-et-Loir, in the Centre-Val de Loire region.
Situation: The church Sainte-Foy rises near the Place du Général-de-Gaulle, inside the boulevards of Chartres. The gate opens on Famin Street, the bedside overlooks Sainte-Foy Square. The church is along Collin-d'Harleville Street. Between the gate and the bedside is the square Jean-Lelièvre.
History: The chapel Sainte-Foy, outside the walls of the ditches, was frequented in the 11th century by Fulbert de Chartres and his disciples, especially Bernard in the years 1006-1012, master of the Episcopal School of Angers, who wrote to his master:
"When I used to enjoy your sweet company, I often went to write or pray in the little chapel of Saint Foy, which is located outside the city walls. »
The chapel was enclosed in the 12th century, when he was joined by a parish.
