History of the parish: This part of the old gypsum quarries is rapidly growing after the 1860s. The parish was founded in 1907 and was generously provided with a stadium, grounds and sports buildings (football, basketball). Among the lay founders and donors are the presence of artist Émile Hirsch whose daughter, Marie Hirsch, will be at the origin of the first Paris of the Guides de France and the very close patronage Montcalm. The Championnet patronage is very popular in this popular district of the 18th arrondissement, close to the "Zone". In the parish clergy, we must note the presence before 1914 of Abbé André Caillet, founder of the FRAT in 1908, brother of Abbé Marcel Caillet, founder of the Intrépides du Rosaire in the 14th, still a popular district.
