History: The church of Sainte-Leocadie was built in the 12th century and was fortified from the beginning.

External architecture: The church of Sainte-Leocadie is built in limestone shellfish assembled in large apparatus showing traces of opus monspelliensis. The western facade and part of the lateral facades are surmounted by mâchicoulis and niches that date from the construction of the church. On the western facade, these mâchicoulis and niches occupy the left span and the central span, the right span being occupied by the staircase of access to the clock tower, both posterior to the Romanesque era. On the side façades, these mâchicoulis and slots occupy only the first two spans, the rest of the side façades being rhythmic by powerful buttresses.
