Church building
église Sainte-Élisabeth de Béthonsart
The church of Bethonsart, also known as the Church of St.Elisabeth of Hungary, is the parish church of the homonymous municipality in the department of Pas-de-Calais. After an inscription in 1927, its bell tower has been classified as historical monuments since 9 August 1930. The church was founded in 1247 by Marie de Fief and Enguerand his son and the inhabitants of Bethonsart.
The year engraved on the bell tower is 1562, above a niche of saint. The bell tower is fortified and pierced by murderers. At the top of the bell tower, the corners carry gargoyles and the hooks of its stone arrow are animal-shaped.
