The church of the Assumption-de-la-Vierge is located in the village of Roppeviller and the French department of the Moselle.
History: From the spiritual point of view, Roppeviller was a branch of Walschbronn until 1802, before being erected as a parish of the Archpriest of Volmunster in 1804. The church, dedicated to the Assumption of the Virgin, was built in 1791 and the Romanesque tower was added in the second half of the 19th century. Curiously placed away from the main axis of the agglomeration, the church overlooks the village to the south.
Attaching their morphology to the baroque furniture of the churches of Alsace and southern Germany, the 18th-century oak benches, with a chantoured profile, are richly decorated with vegetal rinsels, varying from one play to another. Like the benches, the pulpit to preach would come from the church of the former Abbey of Sturzelbronn. Perhaps from the second quarter of the 18th century and integrated into a panel, it consists of a tank rhythmized by torso columnettes, with faces carved from niches housing the statues of the four evangelists.
