The Camifolia Garden is a botanical garden located in Chemillé-en-Anjou in the department of Maine-et-Loire. It is a tourist site highlighting medicinal, aromatic and tinctoriale plants.

Situation: The Camifolia Garden, also known as the botanical garden of medicinal and aromatic plants, is located at 1 rue de l'Arzillé, in Chemillé-en-Anjou in the southwest of Maine-et-Loire, between Angers and Cholet. It extends over a part of the valley of the Hyroma, a river that crosses it.

History: In the mid-19th century, France was affected by the phylloxera crisis that ravaged the vineyards of the region. In order to help local wine growers to support themselves, a farmer develops the production of Roman chamomile, imported from Belgium. The cultivation of this medicinal plant will spread around Chemillé. In 1976, a group of producers created Chemillé's garden of medicinal and aromatic plants, in order to develop knowledge of plants that are also known as "healthy-beauty-well-being plants". The Chemillé Gardens of Medicinal Plants Association, created in 1996, contributes to the creation in 2008 of the Camifolia Garden. At its opening...
