The Abbey of Saint-Yved is a church in Braine, the necropolis of the Counts of Dreux. It was dedicated to Saint Yved whose relics were brought to Braine (Braisne) in the ninth century. Priorly chapter of secular canons, the abbey of Braine was given to the order of the Premonstrated by the bishop of Soissons in 1130. Brain, an ancient land full of history at the crossroads of an ancient Roman way, was very early the residence of pleasure of the first Merovingian and Carolingian kings. Inheritance, it ends up being the property of the Counts of Dreux, the younger branch of the Capetians. The latter fortifies the Folia Castle, which was transformed into ruins by World War I. From the lower castle, now extinct, there remain only the entrance pilasters and the cellars. From the Middle Ages also remains a half-timbered house, as well as the Saint-Yved Abbey Church. This church is classified as historical monuments by the list of 1840.
