The arenas of Roubaix is a building of Taurin shows that is now extinct, built in 1888 and destroyed in 1904.
History: Between the second half of the 19th century and the beginning of the First World War, some cities in northern France hosted bullfighting in arenas built for this purpose. This is the case of Autun, Cholet, Deuil-la-Barre, Limoges, Le Havre, Lyon, Maisons-Laffitte, Malo-les-Bains, Nantes, Paris, Reims, Rochefort-sur-Mer, Roubaix, Vichy, etc. In Roubaix, bullfights were organized between 1899 and 1904, on the track of the arenas built in 1888 (also called torodrome) on the commune of Croix with the permission of the city of Croix for the construction of the Torodrome of Roubaix and then called Arenas of Barbieux Park, right next to the velodrome of the city of Croix, rue d'Hem. Francis Marmande recalls in Le Monde: "A lot of Taurin shows, from Roubaix to Arles and Le Havre, took place in France". Maestro Luis Mazzantini was present there on 18 June 1899.
