About

The church of Saint-Loup dates from the middle of the seventeenth century (1655-1660). It belongs to the commune of Champs-sur-Marne since the separation of the Church and the State in 1905. Thus, the Romanesque porch of this church bears the motto of the republic: "Freedom, Equality, Fraternity". It is one of the many churches in France to carry this motto which, on a religious building, often surprises the visitor.
