The Old-Windstein Castle is located in the municipality of Windstein, in the department of Lower-Rhin. The ruin is located on a narrow slicing bar, at a height of 340 m, directly above the small town of Windstein, in the northern Vosges. The castle has been listed as historic monuments since 9 November 1984.
