Bridge
pont de Loire
The bridge of Loire is a bridge that crosses the Loire at Nevers in the Nièvre. Stone bridge, it was designed in 1767 by Louis de Règemortes. And partly built by several engineers, including Abraham Mossé.
Partly destroyed during its construction (a wooden bridge covered the remaining crossing part), it was not completed until 1832. It was the only bridge of Nevers crossing the Loire until the construction of the viaduct of the Loire in 1853 and the only road bridge until the construction of the Pierre-Bérégovoy bridge which carries the A77 motorway in 1995. It carries the departmental road D907 (formerly National 7).
