Bunker
The Wolfsschlucht II (the "Wolf Ravin" or the "Wolf Gorge" or the "Wolf Precipice") or W2 is a set of German Second World War bunkers located between Margival and Laffaux in the Aisne, about ten kilometers northeast of Soissons. It is one of the twenty headquarters of the Führer (Führerhauptquartiere or FHQ), which Adolf Hitler built across Germany and occupied Europe. After the war, the site, which had not been destroyed, was used by the French Army and NATO as a command centre.
It was then used for commando training of French troops. Abandoned in the 1990s, it was classified in 2014 in the inventory of historical monuments; It may also be the subject of guided tours organised by local associations which also participate in its restoration.
