About

Er Grah's broken Grand Menhir is a menhir located in Locmariaquer, in the French department of Morbihan. It is associated in the site of the megaliths of Locmariaquer with the tumulus of Er Grah and the table of the Merchants. In 1988, it was found to be also associated with a megalithic alignment with 18 other smaller steles.

This menhir, now ashore and divided into four fragments, would have been erected in the middle of the fifth millennium BC. Its exceptional dimensions (21 meters and 300 tons) make it the largest megalith in Europe.
