Location: The castle is located in the commune of Linac, in the French department of Lot.
History: The castle of Puy-Launay is located away from the village of Linac, on a hill overlooking the valleys of Bervezou and Burlande, in a green landscape on the steps of Cantal. The castle in the 13th century was located on the land belonging to the abbey of Aurillac. The site is called "Puech Léonès" in a recognition in 1279, then "Puech Launes" in 1504, before the transformation of Puech into Puy and Launes into Launay in the 20th century. In 1279, the fief belonged to Rigal Guignabert. In the next century, the fief belonged to the Rabassier family. Étienne Rabassier was quoted in the scene as early as 1399. In 1438, Marie Rabassier brought the seigneury to Eustache de Narbonnes. In 1504 Eustache II, his son, born around 1440, counted for Puylaunes. In 1602, Jean de Narbonnes died without an heir.
