site archéologique de Brandes
The archaeological site of Brandes is the site of a mining village located at an altitude of 1,800 metres, close to the Alpe d'Huez station, in the Oisans basin, on the slopes of the Grandes Rousses massif, in the French department of Isère. At this place, man exploited silver galena from the twelfth to the fourteenth century before abandoning it after the flood of the galleries in 1330. The site is classified as historical monuments.
