The "Montbrehain British Cemetery" is one of three military cemeteries of the First World War located in the territory of the municipality of Montbrehain, Aisne. The other two are Higt Tree Cemetery located not far from the farm of the Arbre-Haut and Calvaire Cemetery located in the village, cemetery street. The village of Montbrehain in the Aisne region of Hauts-de-France has 3 Commonwealth military cemeteries: Higt Tree Cemetery, Calvaire Cemetery and Montbrehain British Cemetery, which is a military cemetery located in Montbrehain, 400 metres from the village on the Fontaine-Uterte road. It contains the graves of 89 victims of the First World War: 86 British soldiers and 3 Australian soldiers.
Location: This cemetery is located 2 km south of the village, on the D283, route of Fontaine-Uterte.
As early as the end of August 1914, Montbrehain was occupied by German troops and remained far from fighting until October 1918.
