Bridge
pont du Gier
The bridge of the Gier, extended by the bridge-levis on the canal (1844-1965), was one of the twenty bridges of the commune of Rive-de-Gier, in the Loire department. It was built around 1841. In 1955, the RN 88 was built in place of the bridge.
The drawbridge was located to the left of the bridge and served as a lock for the canal's navigation. It was commissioned by the Givors Canal Company.
