The covered alley of the Étang des Essarts, also called dolmen des Marets, is a megalithic building located in the commune of Champcenest, in the Seine-et-Marne department, whose authenticity is not proven.

Description: The site was reported in 1912 as a likely megalithic site. In its then state, they presented themselves as a pile of stones without order covered with brush. In 1913, the Société d'Histoire et d'Archeologie de l'arrondissement de Provins undertook a restoration which was carried out without a precise record of the previous situation. The reconstituted building has a single cover table (2.90 m long by 1.95 m wide and about 0.60 m thick) based on three orthostats, the whole being preceded by seven erect slabs. All the slabs are milled. The absence of this type of rock in the natural state on site, implies that these slabs were voluntarily transported to this place with a specific intention which may correspond to the desire to build a megalithic construction, but during the restoration work, no discovery of any archaeological material allowed to confirm the probability...
