Roman road
chaussée romaine de Bavay à Cologne
The road from Bavay to Cologne is a Roman road linking Bavay, capital of the Nervens (Bagacum Nervorum), Cologne, capital of Lower Germania (Colonia Claudia Ara Agrippinensium), passing through Tongres (Atuatuca Tungrorum). It is also one of the seven Brunehaut Shoes radiating around Bavay. In Cologne, it is called Via Agrippinensis, and more recently by German archaeologists, Via Belgica.
