abbatiale Notre-Dame-de-la-Lumière-au-delà-de-Tout du monastère Notre-Dame-du-Torrent-de-Vie du Thoronet
The monastery of Notre-Dame du Torrent de Vie, located in Thoronet (lieud "La Manuelle"), consists of a set of buildings located in the wild garrigue, with its church, on a plot located 500 meters from the Thoronet Abbey, one of the three Cistercian wonders of Provence, on the edge of the Sainte-Croix domain manual. The monastery houses a religious community of nuns belonging to the monastic family of Bethlehem, the Assumption of the Virgin and Saint Bruno (contemplative and monastic religious order of pontifical law). The monastic family of Bethlehem, the Assumption of the Virgin and Saint Bruno was born on November 1, 1950, when Pope Pius XII promulgated the dogma of the Assumption of the Virgin in St Peter's Square in Rome.
The first communion of monks in France was founded in 1976. Today this monastic family comprises about 600 members from various continents, divided into 33 monasteries around the world.
