About

The Saint John Chapel, dedicated to Saint John the Baptist, is a chapel located in Hoenheim, Lower Rhine, France. Located on the main street, next to the town hall, it is not aligned with the other buildings on the street, so it is very immediately visible when crossing the village. It would have been built in the 12th century, in the centre of the village, in the highest part in order to protect it from the countless floods coming from the Ried and Ill. Most of the current building was built in the 16th century, replacing an older building.
