About

The chapel of Versenat, known as the chapel of Saint John the Baptist and Saint Catherine, is a small church dating from 1823. Built in the Isère department, it belongs to the municipality of Susville.

History: Two husbands, Jean-Baptiste and Catherine Gras, at the origin of his construction, dedicated this chapel to Saint Catherine and Saint John the Baptist. It is the oldest chapel in Susville. This chapel is currently owned by the Galvin brothers, heirs to the Gras spouses. A story relates to this chapel in connection with Saint Thérèse: a certain "S" family tells us that one of the youngest children in the family would have given her mother a petal of rose from nowhere, and then a second without any explanation. This is how this family imagined that this event came directly from Saint Thérèse who said during her lifetime that she wanted "to spend her heaven doing good on earth and would rain a rain of rose petals." Thus the parents bought a statue of Saint Teresa and placed it in this small church.
