Botanical garden
The botanical garden of the Aubrac of about 2,300 m2 is a botanical garden located in Saint-Chély-d'Aubrac, Aveyron, Occitanie nestled at an altitude of 1,300 m, it is in the heart of the regional nature park of the Aubrac. The garden is open to the public from mid-May to the end of September and is managed by the Aubrac Botanical Garden Association. Created in 1988 on the initiative of Francis Nouyrigat, the garden was originally part of the historic site of the Aubrac Dominery, a former monastic hospital. In 2011, he was remodelled at the foot of the Aubrac house, offering him a new location and landscape development. Today, the garden is home to more than 500 plant species, some 30 of which are protected, divided into masses representing the natural environments characteristic of the Aubrac plateau:
pastures: the Meum athamanticum cistre, the Achilles millefeuille, rock: joubarb, orpin Sedum, Undergrowth : Calament with large flowers, Allium ursinum, Wetland and peatlands, where rare and insectivorous plants such as Linaigrette, Grassette, or Drosera are found.
