château de Vieille Cour
The Château de Vieille Cour is a former medieval castle, in ruins, located in Oudon in the Loire-Atlantique department. The castral site, on an abrupt hilltop overlooking the Hâvre valley, consists of a high courtyard and a low courtyard, girded with dry moat or ditches. The upper courtyard, of an area of almost half an hectare and protected by a enclosure consisting of a defensive tower, a double doorway and walls, consists essentially of the seigneurial house.
Built in the second half of the 13th century by the family of Châteaugiron, the castle was dismantled from 1392. Private property, it is "registered site" by order of 1942.
