About

The portal of the Last Judgment is the central portal of the western facade of Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris. He represents the Last Judgment as it is written in the Gospel according to St Matthew. Built between 1210 and 1240, this is the latest of the three main elevation gates. It was modified in 1771-1772, on a project by Jacques-Germain Soufflot, with the creation of a single arch, and regained its original characteristics during the 19th century restoration led by Eugène Viollet-le-Duc and Jean-Baptiste Antoine Lassus.
