château Lagrézette
The Château de La Grézette or Château Lagrézette is a French castle located in the commune of Caillac, in the Lot department in the Occitanie region. The castle, its staircase, the dining room, the chapel and the carved chimneys of the large rooms on the first and second floor as well as the dovecote are classified as historical monuments.
16th-18th century: The Château Lagrézette was built in the 16th century by Pierre de Massault whose brother, Gilibert, was archdeacon of Cahors. The construction of the castle was desired by Adhémar de Massault, on "la petite Grèze", a solid stone shovel overlooking the Lot Valley within its property. His son, Pierre de Massault, made this project in memory of his father; he dedicated it to his daughter, Marguerite de Massault, who gave the estate the name "La Grézette" as soon as the plans were drawn up. On the death of her father, Marguerite inherited the castle; In 1503 she married Pierre de Maffre de Camburat. The residence then passed to several families, including those of Malegat, Lebrun, Belcastel, Malartic and d'Ambert.
