Charolais Castle or Charolais Castle is a former castle located in the 9th arrondissement of Paris.

Origin: In 1739 the Count of Charolais acquired a plot of land of 13 arpents north of rue Jollivet (present-day rue de Bellefond) in the district of New France and then 3 other lands forming a set of 21 arpents (7 hectares) which extended to the vicinity of rue Pétrelle between rue du Faubourg-Poissonnière and rue de Rochechouart. Before its urbanization, the site was very beautiful: a hillside on a moderate slope at the foot of Montmartre hill overlooking the maraicer gardens and orchards that extended to the boulevard with a view beyond the city's bell towers. This estate included a house next to a large pavilion decorated with 4 columns on the porch built in 1713 for Laurent Danet lieutenant de falconerie, stepfather of the seller Thomas Durand. The Count of Charolais, who lived there as a tenant before his acquisition, had these buildings enlarged by an architect who was not known, perhaps Jean Aubert.
