cathédrale Saint-Pons de Saint-Pons-de-Thomières
Saint-Pons-de-Cimiez Cathedral or Saint-Pons-de-Thomières Abbey, or Abbatia Sancti Pontii - Abbatia Thomeriarum, is a former Roman Catholic abbey and cathedral, located in Saint-Pons-de-Thomières, in the French department of Hérault and the Occitanie region. The Abbey was founded in 936 by the Count of Toulouse, Raymond III Pons and his wife Garsinde. It was the seat of the bishopric of Saint-Pons de Thomières, created in 1318 by detachment from the diocese of Narbonne and removed from the Revolution to be integrated into the diocese of Montpellier (later archdiocese).
