Amélie-les-Bains-Palalda () is a commune in the Pyrénées-Orientales department in the Occitan region of Amélie-les-Bains and Palaldà in Catalonia, France. Els Banys d'Arles () is a commune in the Pyrénées-Orientales department of Amélie-les-Bains, France. Historically and culturally, the commune is in Vallespir, a former Viscount (included in the Middle Ages in the Viscounty of Castelnou), attached to France by the Treaty of the Pyrenees (1659) and corresponding approximately to the valley of Tech, from its source to Céret.
Exposed to an altered ocean climate, it is drained by the Tech, the river of El Terme, the Mondony. The commune has a remarkable natural heritage: a Natura 2000 site ("the Tech") and two natural areas of ecological, fauna and flora interest. Amélie-les-Bains-Palalda is an urban municipality with 3,529 inhabitants in 2023.
It is in the urban unit of Amélie-les-Bains-Palalda and is the commune-centre of the area of attraction of Amélie-les-Bains-Palalda. Its inhabitants are called the Amelians or Amelians and Palaldians.
