Germans' Gate

The German Gate is a fortified city gate east of Metz. It serves as a bridge over the Seille from the 13th century to the beginning of the 20th century. The building is today the most important vestige of the medieval Messinal ramparts and bears witness to the evolution of Metz's military architecture in the Middle Ages.
