The Notre-Dame-des-Victoires Basilica in Paris is a Catholic place of worship located in the Place des Petits-Pères in the 2nd arrondissement of Paris, whose construction began in 1629 and ended in 1740. This is the last vestige of the convent of the Augustinians (known as the convent of the Little Fathers). The basilica is dedicated to the Virgin Mary under the name "Our Lady of Victories" following the request of Louis XIII and venerated finally under the name "Our Lady of Victories, refuges of the sick and fishermen" following the call received by Brother Fiacre. It was one of five minor basilicas in Paris, raised to this rank on 23 February 1927. It has been classified as historical monuments since 12 May 1972.
In 1614, Louis XIII made a vow in a church in Aubervilliers to build in Paris a church dedicated to the Virgin if he won a military victory against the Protestants. In 1628, following the siege of La Rochelle, he decided to build the church of Notre-Dame-des-Victoires, which he considered to be the daughter of Notre-Dame-des-Vertus d'Aubervilliers.
