Église Saint-Girons

The church of Saint-Girons (Gléisa de Sent Gironç en Occitan Béarnais) is a Gothic church located in the commune of Monein in Béarn, in the department of Pyrénées-Atlantiques and dedicated to Saint Girons d'Hagetmau. It was listed as a historic monument on August 7, 1913. Its imposing dimensions make it the largest Gothic church (15th century) in Béarn but its particularity comes from its structure: realized in the heart of oaks, it has the shape of a double hull of ship overturned.
