The Berthe-Weill Garden is a green space in the 3rd arrondissement of Paris.
Situation and access: Located close to Picasso Museum, the site is accessible by 2 rue de la Perle and 3 rue de Thorigny and served by Saint Paul Metro Station. This garden is adjacent to the Picasso Museum, a symbolic detail paying tribute to the support of the merchant during the artist's early days when he arrived in Paris in 1900. It is a garden dedicated to reading, with several benches and a book box, paying tribute to the work of the publisher of the gallery.
Origin of name: He was named after Berthe Weill (1865-1951) a French art merchant. This name was chosen after a citizen vote initiated by the City Council of the Third arrondissement of Paris, from which it came out winner, thanks to the mobilization of art historian Marianne Le Morvan.
History: This garden was opened in March 2019 on a 350 m2 hollow tooth and presents a commemorative plaque briefly presenting Berthe Weill's course.
