Memorial wall
mur des Fédérés
The wall of the Fédérés is part of the enclosure of the cemetery of the Père-Lachaise, in the 20th arrondissement of Paris, in front of which 147 federated, combatants of the Commune, were shot by the Versaillaise army at the end of the Bloody Week in May 1871, and thrown into a common pit open at the foot of the wall. Since then, it has symbolized the struggle for freedom, the nation and the ideals of the community. The wall is at the southeast corner of the cemetery, in Division 76.
