Helfenstein Castle is located in the French commune of Philippsburg, Moselle. Until it was rediscovered in 1927 by Adolphe Malye, the Helfenstein, whose existence had been forgotten in the shadow of the Falkenstein, was only nicknamed Wachtfelse (literally the guard rock).
