Backslash is a Parisian gallery specializing in contemporary art located in the Marais district.
History: Founded in 2010, the Backslash Gallery is directed by Delphine Guillaud and Séverine de Volkovitch. The gallery represents 15 artists including France Bizot, Charlotte Charbonnel, Odonchimeg Davaadorj, Maxime Duveau, Elsa Guillaume, Simon Nicaise, Fahamu Pecou, Rero, Boris Tellegen (nl), Xavier Theunis, Michael Zelehoski, Clemens Wolf, Duncan Wylie and Michael Zelehoski. The gallery regularly collaborates to create the exhibition stations, as in 2011 with Gaël Charbau, in 2012 with Mathieu Mercier (Prix Marcel Duchamp in 2003) or Marc Donnadieu in 2013. In 2016, the Backslash gallery founded Sessions, a week-long initiative that brought together artists from several contemporary art galleries in the Marais. In subsequent years, the concept of Sessions was taken up by various galleries such as Galerie Paris-Beijing or Galerie Bertrand Grimont. The gallery regularly participates in French fairs, such as Drawing Now Art Fair, Art Paris, AKAA, or international fairs like Beirut Art Fair, Untitled...
