The Museum of Art and History of Judaism (mahJ) is located in the Hotel de Saint-Aignan in the Marais district (3rd arrondissement of Paris). The museum traces the history of Jewish culture from antiquity to the twentieth century. His collection of religious and everyday objects, manuscripts and works of art illustrates the contributions of Jews to France and the world, particularly in the field of art.

The museum presents an art collection and a historical and ethnographic background. In particular, he keeps 2,700 documents on the Dreyfus case, given by his family. An important place is dedicated to Jewish presence in the arts with painters from the École de Paris (Chagall, Kikoïne, Soutine...) and contemporary artists (Christian Boltanski, Sophie Calle...).

The mahJ also has a research library, rich in some 30,000 documents on the art and archaeology of Judaism and on the history of the Jews of France (including numerous audiovisual documents and a photo library), accessible to all by appointment, and a bookshop accessible outside the box office, offering more than 6,000 titles.
