Château de Foix

The castle of Foix is a 12th century castle whose origin seems to go back to the 10th century, it was renovated several times and very restored in the 19th century. It stands on a rocky platform overlooking the city of Foix in the Ariège department in the Occitanie region. The castle, which houses the departmental museum of Ariège, has been classified as a historical monument since 1840.
