About

The bridge of Saint-Nazaire is a French multi-cable multi-cable road bridge that spans the Loire estuary and connects the city of Saint-Nazaire (to the Penhoët district, via the commune of Montoir-de-Bretagne where the bridge actually takes foot) on the right bank to the north, to Saint-Brevin-les-Pins on the left bank to the south. The bridge, supporting the Blue Road (D 213), was inaugurated on 18 October 1975. The metal structure measures 720 m; all the works, with the access viaducts, represent a total length of 3,356 m, making the bridge of Saint-Nazaire the longest bridge of France for nearly 50 years, before the opening of the new coastal road to Réunion.
