The castle of Loches is a former castle, from the first third of the 11th century, which stands in the Loire Valley, on the French commune of Loches in the department of Indre-et-Loire, in the region Centre-Val de Loire, in the heart of the royal city built on a rocky spur surrounded by a wall. This city includes, in addition to the dungeon, the royal residence and the collegiate Saint-Ours. The castle is partially protected as historical monuments.
